Services
Research
and Documentation Services
Those who forget the past are doomed to
repeat it. NRSNW is the institutional memory of the Washington
House Natural Resource Committee since the mid-nineties. Our
library of research papers and files address all legislative
issues considered by the committee. Much of the research was
personally done by
Jim Buck
as the bills moved through the process. Positions on future
natural resource legislation affecting a client should only be
considered in context with the past. NRSNW provides that context
for its clients.
Presentation
and
Education Services
As a State Representative,
Jim Buck
established a solid reputation for reading legislation and doing
his own in-depth research about issues facing the legislature.
He used the research to create educational tools for his
colleagues and constituents so they could be better informed
about the issues. NRSNW continues this service. We research,
develop and present information on subject matter according to
our clients needs.
Educational programs about the salient natural resource issues
facing the
Pacific Northwest
are available or can be created in POWERPOINT format on request.
We provide rapid response for crisis management or disaster
response and recovery.
Geo-hazard
Analysis and
Emergency Preparedness Actions
NRSNW is the leader in providing detailed
analysis of earthquake and tsunami hazards for communities on
the Olympic Peninsula.
Jim Buck
wrote and produced “Possible Effects of a Cascadia Subduction
Earthquake on the 24th District” in 2006 and
presented the program as the keynote speaker at the Pacific
Peril 2006
Exercise at Camp Rilea,
Oregon. The methodology used to create “Possible Effects…” is easily adaptable to other communities throughout
the
Pacific Northwest. NRSNW helps elected officials, emergency managers, business
leaders and public interest groups visualize the effect of a
disaster on their community and facilitates planning for rescue
and recovery.
Government
Relations
NRSNW has current contacts with
legislators, legislative staff, employees of federal, state,
tribal and local government agencies, resource based industry
leaders, lobbyists and citizen interest groups throughout
Washington. Jim Buck
has a proven track record of working with interest groups and
stakeholders to educate the parties, develop natural resource
solution, write legislation, gather support and move bills to
the governor’s desk.
